With its first location tucked in the woods two hours north of Toronto, arcana is a hospitality project seeking to return the modern world to the wild. Guests stay for a two night experience and are guided through moments of grounding, exploration and restoration. I’ve led the brand marketing and creative direction of experience design.

Where Should We Begin - A Game of Stories launched in Summer 2021 with headlines in GQ, The LA Times, Refinery 29 and Vogue. The game has since sold out 3 times and is now shipping internationally. I’ve partnered with Esther to collaborate on the game design, creative direction, and strategy for her first direct to consumer product.

 
 

Snips (acquired by Sonos)

VP Marketing / Brand / Creative Direction
Snips is an artificial intelligence company based between Paris and NYC focussed on Making Technology Disappear. By creating the first Private by Design Voice Assistant, Snips is empowering hardware manufacturers and developers around the world to democratize access to technology while protecting privacy. I built the company’s marketing team, developed and launched the brand, and have spearheaded a number of impactful marketing initiatives in both the digital and physical.

 

Simcoe Bicycles (acquired by Hawley)

Cofounder / Marketing + Brand / Creative Direction
I was the cofounder of city bicycle line Simcoe, which began in 2013 and was acquired by Hawley Lambert in 2016. Simcoe captured a growing niche in the commuter bicycle market by launching a proprietary frame geometry and set of features designed to be robust enough for the North-Eastern winters, while light and agile enough for the boardwalks on the West coast. Simcoe’s unique marketing strategy and collaborations set it apart, such as a model for the Shangri La Hotel.

 

The Motel

Cofounder / Creative Direction
I am a cofounder of The Motel, a production company based in New York City committed to creating beautiful experiences using sound, light, and space. The Motel has produced a series of dance parties that have attracted musicians from around the world, and continue to pursue creative ways to gather great people in beautiful spaces.

Between 2012 - 2016 I worked with Metsa to create design items for your wardrobe and home. Each year the company releases a select number of products, building a evergreen collection. Every item can live together, taking on different stories.

 

Indiegogo

Marketing — Canada
For over two years, I worked with Indiegogo on their launch in Canada. With both live crowdfunding campaigns and innovative products ready to ship — there is no better place to hunt for the cool and clever. I worked with VCs, accelerators, institutions and large brands on democratizing access to capital and bringing open crowdfunding to the masses.

 

Experience Design — NYC > TO Retreat

Experience Design / Production
Working in collaboration with Ryan Matzner, we brought 45 change makers from NYC to Toronto for a 4 day exploration of the best the city has to offer. We took over The Annex Hotel, had guided tours through some of Toronto’s newest galleries, ate in secret dining rooms and cruised around the island in the sunshine.

 
 

Art — Tree of Tenere

Narrative / Fundraising / Community
I was on the founding team for the 2017 Tree of Tenere art project at Burning Man. The tree stood over 30 feet tall and spanned over 30 feet in width with over 120,000 LED lit leaves. I worked on the naming and narrative of the tree, as well as the strategy and launch of the community and crowdfunding campaign.

 

Art — The Lonely Submarine
